Informational message: Elevated EBS API error rates

We are investigating elevated error rates for EBS API calls in the US-EAST-1 Region.

Informational message: Increased errors for API requests

From 2:29 PM to 2:55 PM PDT some customers experienced an increase in latencies and error rates for requests to the Amazon EC2 APIs in the US-EAST-1 region. At no time were running instances or volumes affected during this issue. The service is operating normally.

Service is operating normally: [RESOLVED] Network connectivity

Network connectivity between instances has been restored. An increase in packet loss caused by a failing networking component was the cause of the connectivity issue. The service is now operating normally.

Informational message: Network connectivity

We are continuing to work to restore network connectivity to affected instances.

Informational message: Network connectivity

We can confirm there is an issue affecting network connectivity between a small set of instances in a single Availability Zone in the US-EAST-1 region. Internet connectivity is not affected by this issue.

Informational message: Network connectivity

We are investigating an issue with network connectivity between instances in a single Availability Zone.

Service is operating normally: [RESOLVED] EBS connectivity issues in a single Availability Zone

We have deployed the fix and connectivity is now restored for all EBS volumes. Error rates around API calls to create new EBS volumes and snapshots have now dropped and the service is operating normally.

Informational message: EBS connectivity issues in a single Availability Zone

We are continuing to work to restore connectivity to all EBS volumes. Connectivity has now been restored to all but a few remaining volumes.

Informational message: EBS connectivity issues in a single Availability Zone

We have identified the root cause of the issue and are deploying a fix. Connectivity has now been restored to most of the affected EBS volumes.

Service is operating normally: [RESOLVED] EBS connectivity issues in a single Availability Zone

7:32 PM PDT We are currently investigating connectivity issues between EC2 instances and a small set of EBS volumes in a single Availability Zone in the US-EAST-1 Region. Some API calls to create new EBS volumes and snapshots in this Availability Zone will return errors during this issue. Additionally, a small number of existing EBS volumes in that Availability Zone are currently experiencing connectivity issues.
8:01 PM PDT We have identified the root cause of the issue and are deploying a fix. Connectivity has now been restored to most of the affected EBS volumes.
9:11 PM PDT We are continuing to work to restore connectivity to all EBS volumes. Connectivity has now been restored to all but a few remaining volumes.
10:44 PM PDT We have deployed the fix and connectivity is now restored for all EBS volumes. Error rates around API calls to create new EBS volumes and snapshots have now dropped and the service is operating normally.

[RESOLVED] Instance Connectivity

10:33 AM PDT A very small number of instances in a single Availability Zone in US-EAST-1 Region experienced a loss of connectivity from 9:10 AM PDT to 9:55 AM PDT. All connectivity has been restored.
