Between 2:15 PM – 4:09 PM PST, some customers experienced elevated packet loss via VPN and Direct Connect to some VPC instances in the Northern Virginia (US-EAST-1) region. The service is now operating normally.

Between 2:44PM ” 3:16PM PDT, some customers experienced a condition where one tunnel of a VPN connection was down. Each VPN Connection is implemented as a pair of redundant IPSec tunnels. During this event, traffic was automatically re-routed to the working tunnel. Both tunnels are now available and the service is operating normally.

We are investigating elevated error rates for VPN tunnels on one of our redundant VPN Gateway endpoints in the US-EAST-1 region.

Between 6:10AM PST and 6:19AM PST, a small number of VPN Connections were out of service due to a network event with an upstream Internet service provider. This problem has been resolved and the service is operating normally.

Between 3:04AM ” 3:20AM PDT, a small number of customers experienced outages of VPN connections due to errors at an upstream Internet service provider. Each VPN connection is implemented as two IPSec tunnels to redundant VPN gateway endpoints. Impacted customers will have seen one or both IPSec tunnels appear down intermittently during this time period. The upstream error has been corrected and the service is operating normally.
