Priority Maintenance – Cloud Server Huddle 16 – Jan. 31, 2009 @ 00:00 CST | Complete

Rackspace Cloud engineers have identified an emergency firmware
update that needs to be applied to the Cloud Server host machines in
Huddle 16.  The firmware update will prevent some instability issues we
have encountered on the servers running previous versions.
Unfortunately, the update requires a reboot to take effect.  In order
to avoid an unscheduled reboot, we will be proactively rebooting the
host servers in this huddle on January 31, 2010 between the hours of
06:00 UTC and 10:00 UTC (00:00 CST and 04:00 CST).

If you are
affected by this maintenance, you should receive an email
notification.  We apologize for the interruption in service and any
inconvenience this may cause. However, we feel this is the best course
of action to prevent future issues.

Update, 06:17:  This maintenance has been completed.

STL-A Network Issue

UPDATE 7:10PM CST: The emergency network maintenance is now complete. STL-A customers should no longer be experiencing any packet loss at this time. Please let us know if you see any issues.

UPDATE 5:10PM CST: We are completing the emergency network maintenance. This will help provide stability to the network. We are also planning a full overhaul of the STL-A network. We will provide more details around the maintenance once it has been scheduled.

UPDATE 3:53PM CST: We are currently performing an emergency network maintenance to correct the issue and should be completed shortly.

During the maintenance your slices may not be shown in the Slicemanager. However, please note that your slices have not gone anywhere and it is simply an issue of them not being displayed correctly in the SliceManager.

UPDATE 3:38PM CST: We have identified the cause and currently have technicians on site working to correct the issue. We will update you further when connectivity to your slice has been restored.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue.

UPDATE 2:54PM CST: Unfortunately, the network issues we experienced this morning have re-appeared. Customers located in our STL-A data center may be experiencing packet loss to their slice at this time.

We are currently investigating the issue and hope to have it fully resolved as soon as possible.

UPDATE 11:42AM CST: The network issues in our STL-A data center should be resolved at this time.

If you continue to experience packet loss to your slice or any other issues please visit us in SliceChat so that we can resolve them as soon as possible.

UPDATE 11:20AM CST: Currently, the packet loss to our STL-A data center is still ongoing. At this time, our network engineers are investigating a resolution and we have technicians on site to help resolve this issue as soon as possible.

We have received reports of packet loss to our STL-A data center and are currently investigating the issue.

We will update you further when we have additional information to provide.
