Automated backups for RDS database instances have been resumed. Automated backups were paused between 8:09PM and 11:26PM PDT. The service is now operating normally.

A small number of volumes in the US-EAST-1 region are experiencing EBS CreateSnapshot errors. We have identified the root cause and are working on restoring functionality.

Due to the ongoing EBS CreateSnapshot API errors, automated backups for RDS database instances have been paused in the US-EAST-1 region. This does not impact your ability to perform point-in-time restore.

Between 7:12 AM and 7:32 AM PDT the EC2 APIs experienced increased error rates. No running instances were affected. The issue has been resolved and the service is operating normally.
