Amazon EBS will be undergoing system maintenance on February 16th, from 1:30 AM to 1:45 AM PST. During the maintenance customers may notice an increase in 500 errors for requests to create, attach, detach and delete volumes. The creation of snapshots from volumes will also temporarily return a 500 error code. All other requests to the Amazon EC2 API will continue to be processed normally.

The issue has been resolved. Requests to describe newly created resources was delayed between 9:06AM PST and 9:40AM PST. The service is now operating normally.

We are investigating delays in newly created resources being immediately available for describe calls in the US-EAST-1 Region. All other requests to the API are functioning normally. Running instances are not impacted.

The service is now operating normally. We saw elevated API latencies in the EU-WEST-1 region from 2:43 AM PDT to 3:02 AM PDT.

API error rates in the US-EAST-1 Region have now recovered. The service is operating normally.

We can confirm that we are experiencing elevated error rates for EC2 API calls in US-EAST-1 Region. There is no impact to running instances. We are continuing to investigate this issue.

We can confirm that there were a few brief periods of elevated packet loss for some instances in the EU-West-1 region. This issue is now resolved and the service is operating normally.
